Mother's Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the family or individual, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society.

 

At TAWM, we also honor our mothers every year on this Special Day. We love and cherish them dearly, knowing that we came into this world through them.

 

The Bible has a lot to say about the role and traits of mothers. Here are just a few:

 

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may belong upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.” [Exodus: 20:12 NKJV]

 

 "Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck." [Proverbs 1:8-9 NIV]

 

"Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne?" [Isaiah 49:15, NLT]

 

"Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.'" [Proverbs 31:28-29 NIV].

 

“Jesus went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. His mother cherished every word in her heart.” [Luke 2:51, CEB].
